Top Ten Intimidating Books

Today’s topic on Top Ten Tuesday is supposed to be:

Top Ten Author Duos You’d LOVE To See Write A Book Together (aka my (Jamie’s) world would explode if Gayle Forman and Jandy Nelson wrote a book together) — might be hard to come up with 10 but still would be fun! Bonus points if you tell us what kind of book you’d like them to write!

But since I had a hard time thinking of 3 pairs I decided to choose an older topic I didn’t do: Intimidating books.

I think we all have books we find intimidating. Whether it’s because the book has a complex plot, a lot of hype surrounding it or because it’s thicker than a dictionary, we avoid them. And so I’ll tell you about ten books that I find intimidating.

Top Ten Words I Love

toptentuesday This wonderful meme was brought to us by The Broke and the Bookish. Be sure to head over there to check out previous and next Top Ten Tuesday topics. This is an interesting topic I ran into browsing the Top Ten Tuesday topics. I love words. There’s something beautiful about an expansive vocabulary. (I wouldn’t say I have an expansive vocabulary, but I’m working on it 😉 ) I love words based on the way they sound and/or their definition. Fun fact: ‘Eutony’ (Yoo-ton-ee) mean the pleasantness of a word’s sound. (yeah I’m gunna try to sneak in other words in this top “ten” 😉 ) Read More »

I love it when books come with cool/beautiful covers! In this list I’m not going to include any book from the special editions some publishing houses produce. example: Thread edition, the watercolor editions, the bloom edition, the ink edition and so on. If I did include them the list would be impossible to narrow down.

Every now and then when reading a book we run into a sentence or a group of sentences that hits us hard, for whatever reason. There’s just so much meaning in those words. Then we try to remember it by writing it down, tabing or marking the page. I love seeing other people’s tabbed pages it’s like being in their mind and seeing through their eyes. It’s strangely personal like a secret and I love that they trust me with their secret. Here are some of the quotes I love. And I’m sharing with you 😉

Top Ten Books I’ve Recently Added to My To-Be-Read List

It’s time for Top Ten Tuesday!! Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. You should join; it’s so fun! Some of these books  I got all at once so the numbering on this list may not be completely accurate but these are the latest books in my TBR List. Enjoy!

1. ENDGAME: The Calling

From what I’ve heard from this book it reminds my of a Middle Grade series called the 39 clues. I’m surprised I don’t hear much talk of that series, especially since Rick Riordan wrote the first book.

2. The Bone Clocks

I’ve heard about this one from booktube. I heard David Mitchel has a certain writing style and I wanted to look into that. Plus look at that cover ❤

3. An Abundance of Katherines

This I got because I want to read my way through John Green’s books.
