Goodreads Synopsis:
Wolverine, Deadpool, Doctor Doom, Thanos: There’s one hero that’s beaten them all-and now she’s got her own ongoing series! (Not that she’s bragging.) That’s right, you asked for it, you got it, it’s SQUIRREL GIRL! (She’s also starting college this semester.) It’s the start of a brand-new set of adventures starring the nuttiest and most upbeat super hero in the world!

My Thoughts:

When my brothers first told me about Squirrel Girl, who beat some of the most badass people in the marvel universe including, Doctor Doom, Wolverine, Deadpool and even Thanos, with nothing but squirrel like abilities! I thought Marvel was playing a joke. I mean, clearly it had to be. How could one person beat Thanos, the most powerful being in the marvel universe with squirrel like abilities?? It’s a joke. Right?

Top Ten Intimidating Books

This wonderful meme was brought to us by The Broke and the Bookish. Be sure to head over there to check out previous and next Top Ten Tuesday topics.

Today’s topic on Top Ten Tuesday is supposed to be:

Top Ten Author Duos You’d LOVE To See Write A Book Together (aka my (Jamie’s) world would explode if Gayle Forman and Jandy Nelson wrote a book together) — might be hard to come up with 10 but still would be fun! Bonus points if you tell us what kind of book you’d like them to write!

But since I had a hard time thinking of 3 pairs I decided to choose an older topic I didn’t do: Intimidating books.

I think we all have books we find intimidating. Whether it’s because the book has a complex plot, a lot of hype surrounding it or because it’s thicker than a dictionary, we avoid them. And so I’ll tell you about ten books that I find intimidating.

August and September Wrap Up

So this was actually a busy month. On the last days of August we (my family and I) prepared to move from a house we’ve lived in for years. And let me tell you, that wasn’t easy. Do you know how much crap people accumilate over the years?! A lot. A whole lot.

Why did I save all those school papers and books??

Past me: I should save everything I’ve ever had from school dating back to four years. You know, just in case I need to refresh my memory of something. Yes let me keep everything.

Packing me:

So I threw most of that away. Only kept a little of it. You know, just in case 🙂

Now lets get to the books I’ve read:

July Wrap Up

I was looking around to see what books I’ve read this month and wow… I didn’t read much at all! I didn’t even really do anything new so I can’t even do a favorites for you guys. Needless to say this is going to be a very short post.

The only book I managed to complete was Haruki Murakami’s Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage.

I started a couple of other books like, Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult. When I

initially picked up the book I really wanted to read it and i still do but I’m just

not feeling it anymore at the moment.

I also started this middle grade book blurbed by Rick Riordan but ended up

not really enjoying it. I DNF (did not finish) it.

I don’t think I’ll pick it up again. But maybe it something you like? My sister

absolutely loved this book.

I also didn’t manage to finish Fahrenheit 451 and the graphic novel Smile. Yes I didn’t even finish a graphic novel!

All because I was busy or burt out by packing. I’m getting ready to move sometime very soon. So my mind has been elsewhere. For those of you who move often: How do you do it??

I don’t know how much of my time I’ll spend reading in August. I know for sure that in the first 2 weeks I’ll be busy with packing up boxes here or unpacking there. But I’m hopeful to have a better reading and blogging month in August. I’ve already got some books I’m planning to read. Though I might have to put my reading on puase for a bit when I pack my books.

How has your month been? Let me know on the comments or if you have a wrap up feel free to link it down below. Happy reading!

Top 5 Books I Want to See as TV Shows

t5wback2

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme created by Lainey @gingerreadslainey. The Goodreads group is run by Lainey and Mindy @mindyreads. There are a lot of people (including booktubers and bloggers) that participate weekly.

Let’s get on with it ↓

1. The 39 Clues

I’m surprised that not many people know or read this series. Rick Riordan wrote the first book in the series in 2008. It’s a middle grade that reminds me of Endgame (from what I’ve heard of Endgame. Haven’t read it yet.) There are codes in the book and card that come with the book to help you try to figure out where the next clue is before the characters.

What I Like to Read

I realized I never really stated what I like to read on this blog. And I should since this is a book blog after all. So today I decided I’d write a short post on what type of books I like to read.

I’m not picky when it come to the type of books I read. I love a variety of them across all types of genres. I like reading books meant for different age groups including, Childrens’ (although its the one I read the least of), Middle Grade, Young Adult, and Adult.
